About

The Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen is a non-profit arts organization, headquartered in downtown Lancaster, for emerging and established craftspeople from around Pennsylvania. The common thread between our members is the joy they find from creating with their hands.

What they create is something you won’t find in a mass-market big-box store: one-of-a-kind handmade quality crafts with a story.

The story goes beyond the craft item alone but to the experiences, inspiration, personality and hard-working lifestyle that defines a craft artist. When you attend one of our craft fairs, you meet and speak with the artist who created the work. In the process, you forge a stronger appreciation of what is involved in making their crafts.

There’s something especially important about that experience. It provides a deeper sense of connection with the items that surround you daily. Whether its made with handspun fibers, sustainable wood, reclaimed or recycled materials or local clay bodies, fine crafts have a value that goes deeper than the price tag.

We know you agree. Read our blog to stay up to date on our programs and gain insight on the news and decisions shaping our handmade world

Our mission: Recognizing that the making of craft enriches all, the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen seeks to encourage the practice of and nurture excellence in heritage and contemporary crafts. We do this through education, advocacy and support of the practicing craftsmen.
